Hockey Table Cleaning and Maintenance

Air Hockey Table Maintenance
Keeping your air hockey table in good running order will improve the play and the lifespan of your table. There are a few key things you can do to help protect your table and keep it running for years to come.
  • Clean and wax the table surface, pucks and mallets - Turn the fan on and wipe down the top surface of the table using a micro fiber towel or soft cotton cloth. You can have the towel slightly damp with warm water and a mild dish washing detergent or a natural all purpose cleaner. Make sure you wipe any moisture or detergent off with a clean dry cloth before it dries
  • Use silicone spray lubricant sparingly - To make the game play even faster, you can use silicone spray lubricant. Be careful not to use too much as this can make everything too slick. Apply a small amount to the micro fiber cloth and then buff the table surface
  • Clean the fan blower - If you feel comfortable taking a few things apart on your table, we recommend taking a look at the fan blower and spraying it down with compressed air. Every fan traps dirt which can slow down the fan blades and drag on the motor. High-end tables have fans that can cost upwards of $400 to replace so this is important if you want to keep your table in top condition
  • Keep it covered - We also recommend protecting the table surface and keeping dust off of it by purchasing a cover for it. Make sure you look up the length of your table to ensure you get a cover that will properly fit
Bubble Hockey Table Maintenance
  • Clean the outside of the dome - The outside of your bubble is made out of a Lexan plastic material. To clean the outside of the bubble hockey dome, you will need a special cleaner that is safe for Lexan surfaces. Simply spray the cleaner into a lint-free cloth and wipe down the surface
  • Lift and clean under the dome - You can use an allen wrench in order to unscrew the dome bolts around the outside of the table. Once these are all removed, you can unhinge the dome and connect the S hook cable to support it while it is lifted for cleaning and maintenance. While you are "under the hood" you can also use this opportunity to clean the inside of the dome with the Lexan cleaner
  • Remove the players - You can easily remove the players by grabbing the players and lifting straight up to remove them. The goalie is mounted slightly different and you will need to remove the cotter pin in the center of it before you can pull it off
  • Wipe down the table - Once you have the dome lifted up, you can wipe down the table surface using a lint-free cloth and Windex. For a faster surface, you can polish it by spraying some Pledge on your cloth and lightly wiping the surface
